We want to identify and reward ideas for FOR-PROFIT ventures that use technology, especially the INTERNET and ELECTRONIC COMMERCE, to create business opportunities in low-income neighborhoods, increase the value of your community, and provide a high yield for shareholders. AND we want to reward savvy entrepreneurs who would like to use the capital markets to achieve these goals, but may not know how to get started (See the NET Corp.TM Design Book for additional assistance).

Here's some background....

We're the Hamilton Securities Group, Inc., an investment bank located in Washington, D.C. We're not your traditional "take the money and run" kind of bank. For the past six years, we've worked every day to raise the community capital of low-income neighborhoods. Why? Because we believe America's neighborhoods are the last frontier. And that the entrepreneurial spirit, the sense of place, and the desire to create wealth and prosperity are as alive in the residents of America's cities and towns now as they were during the country's earliest days.

We have a new twist on this story. We believe there's money to be made in these communities by residents of these communities - and that the money will be put to good use. Technology is handing us a golden opportunity - through the Internet and electronic commerce- to bring people with good ideas together to form their own marketplace.

So .... here's what we're going to do....

We're going to give one GRAND PRIZE winner $10,000 in cash and three runners-up cash awards of $5,000 each that can be used to invest in their business ideas. All qualifying entrants will also receive a free, pre-release demonstration copy of the Community WizardTM, our prototype money tool for neighborhoods.

We are also going to offer select proposals our best investment banking advice on turning great ideas into actual businesses.

O.K. so what do you have to do?

Look through the StreetEquity NetworkTM website for information and examples of business ideas . Read the official rules carefully. Then using the format described in the official entry form, send us your best ideas (one idea per entry; a maximum of 10 entries per person) for a business opportunity in your community. Let us know what makes your idea a great one and why you think it will make money. Tell us about your neighborhood and your neighbors and show us how your idea will benefit them. (The official entry form and rules follow this announcement.)

Now here's the catch....

You do have to do some thinking and some work to explain your idea so that we understand it, how it will make money (and how much!) and how it will improve your community. AND your entries are due by December 17, 1997. BUT...if you want to test your ideas, possibly win some cash and benefit from sound business advice, here's your chance. If you're one of the many creative, Net-savvy, innovative entrepreneurs who live in neighborhoods across the country, then send us a description of the business opportunity for you and your community right away.
